Matrix Marble, LLC

Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  What is cultured marble?

A:  Webster’s Dictionary defines ‘cultured’ as ‘produced under artificial conditions’. Cultured marble is a mixture  of resin, marble dust, and catalyst. Pigments are added to the mixture to get the desired colors. This matrix mix is then poured into cultured marble molds where it will harden into the shape of the mold whether it’s a sink mold or a bathtub mold, etc. It’s about four times the tensile strength of natural marble, and more stain resistant. Its seamless qualities make it an excellent choice for the bathrooms and kitchens since there are no grout seams for dirt to hide.
